Chart Check: Taylor Swift Becomes First Female Act To Have Over 150 Hot 100 Hits

Published: Saturday 27th Nov 2021 by Rashad

Getting penciled in Billboard history books is a feeling Taylor Swift knows all too well, and the gargantuan success of ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ this week reiterated why.

The re-release of her quaternary studio album, ‘Red,’ took her to the top of the Billboard 200 with the year’s highest first-week sales for a female while its lead single, ‘All Too Well,’ debuted at #1 on the Hot 100 – making her the first act to ever concurrently debut atop both charts in three times over his or her career.

What’s more, the arrival of ‘Well’ on the latter chart was accompanied by 25 other entries from ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ – a feat that not only put her in history books for the most single-week debuts on the chart but it also extends her already unchallenged position as the hit list’s most listed woman.

With her cumulative count now sitting at 164 Hot 100 hits, look below to see where the tunes from the new ‘Red’ landed courtesy of this week’s TGJ Chart Check: Hot 100.

Can we stop referring to a song which reaches the Hot 100 as ‘hits’! Not every song that reaches the chart is a hit
